Decent value for a Greece holiday

I booked a self catering holiday to Greece. I was trying to find the best price and Thomas Cook had a good deal compared to other sites. The 19pp deposit was helpful. I didn't see any promo codes for my specific trip, but the base price was competitive. Saved some money there.

Good holiday, slow support

I booked a family holiday to Spain with Thomas Cook. The package itself was decent, flight and hotel were as described, no issues there. It took 5 days for the booking confirmation to come through, which felt a bit long. Tried contacting customer service about it, but their response time was also a little slow. Overall, a solid 4-star experience.

Quick New York City Break booking

I was looking for a good deal on a city break and found a New York City Break package on Thomas Cook. The website was easy to navigate and I found the flight and hotel combination I wanted quickly. I used the low deposit option, which was great for budgeting. The confirmation came through promptly after booking. Everything was straightforward from start to finish. I received regular updates leading up to the trip. The transfers were included as stated. No hidden fees or surprises. I even checked their FAQ about ATOL protection, and they definitely cover it, which gave me peace of mind. Overall, a really smooth experience for my first time booking with them.

Can you use a Blue Light Card discount with Thomas Cook? Or do they just do like NHS discounts separately?

E Elizabeth T. 4 weeks ago
Yeah, Blue Light Card works. I used mine for a city break last month. Just enter the code at checkout. It's usually a set amount off, not a percentage.

I think NHS is covered under Blue Light, so if you have that you should be good. Best to check their site for the exact details though, sometimes offers change.

How do Thomas Cook packages compare to like, TUI or Jet2holidays? Looking at a Canary Islands trip and the prices seem similar but not sure about the quality difference.

A Amanda R. 4 days ago
I've used all three. Thomas Cook is pretty similar to Loveholidays or Expedia in my experience, more of an aggregator. TUI and Jet2 often have their own planes and reps, so sometimes that feels a bit more 'packaged' if you know what I mean.

It depends on the specific hotel and flights really. I'd check reviews for the hotels on all three. Sometimes Thomas Cook can be cheaper for the exact same trip, sometimes not. Worth comparing the fine print on baggage and transfers too.

Thinking of booking a holiday through Thomas Cook for our summer trip. Are they still reliable after all the news a few years back? Just want to make sure my money's safe.

L Leah 1 month ago
Totally safe now, they're under new ownership and ATOL protected. Used them for a family holiday to Spain last summer, no issues at all.

They're basically an online travel agent now, not the old airline/hotel chain. The protection means if anything goes wrong, you're covered, which is good peace of mind.

Anyone know if Thomas Cook usually has good deals for Black Friday or like, January sales? Trying to time my booking for a long-haul trip.

S Sofia T. 2 weeks ago
Oh yeah, Black Friday and January are usually their biggest sales. I snagged a huge discount on a Caribbean trip during their January sale a couple of years back. Worth waiting for for sure.

They definitely do. Also keep an eye out for summer sales and Boxing Day. Lots of 'kids stay free' type offers then too if that applies to you.

Hey, wondering if anyone's used the 19 quid deposit thing? Is it legit or are there a bunch of hidden fees once you go to pay the rest?

L Leah J. 1 month ago
Yeah, I used it for a trip to Greece last year. It's totally legit, no hidden fees that I found. Just make sure you know when the rest of the payment is due.

It's pretty standard low deposit stuff, just remember it's usually per person and you gotta pay the balance by a certain date or they can cancel your booking. Happened to a friend of mine.
